Perfectly set in their sleepy hometown of Buckden in Cambridgeshire. A wedding at Buckden church! Warm weather sealed the deal for a start to a perfect day, a wedding day! Julie and Chris’ traditional ceremony was in the towering and striking St Mary’s Church. Their lively reception was in the nearby Lion Hotel was so vibrant and social. Many of the villagers turned out to wish them well. The hotel is a breathtaking 16th Century building with so much history and character. – From its dominating wood beams and its vintage windows to the beautiful historical artwork and grand fireplaces – this venue breathes history.
Finally, the happy couple blew their guests and me away with their stunning cake. It was so unique and a rarity to see because it was a tower of cheeses, extravagantly garnished with beautiful grapevines, raspberries and dates dusted in gold.
